RADFORD RACING

Join us for the ultimate “throttle therapy" during our VIP Open Track Experience. While piloting your vehicle on our world-famous, purpose-built track, you learn to master the turns and burn up the straightaways. Get a special track introduction, as well as feedback and support from our top rated driving instructors. The program is known as BBS Specialty, which emphasizes fun while experiencing the art of high-performance driving. After a short ground school, you will rotate through each of the exercises listed below.

Timed Autocross Competition (you drive)

The autocross is a mini road course set up on an asphalt paddock with white lines and cones.  Competitors negotiate this course by practicing good braking and car control.  Each driver has the opportunity for practice runs before they are timed.  The overall fastest time is announced at the conclusion of the program.

Lead & Follow (you drive)

Everyone has an opportunity to drive on a real racetrack. A Radford instructor leads small groups at a time.  Each person drives at their own comfort level, and as the confidence of the drivers builds, the instructor allows the speeds to build. The students learn how to drive the “line” of the track, and also learn about proper braking points and cornering techniques.

Team Shalom (you drive)

Slalom driving, like skiing, is set up as a series of cones. Drivers navigate cones as best they can and learn some principals of weight transfer, information input and car control. This fun and easy exercise is a great way to sharpen skills and allow teams to compete for best time. Teams must buckle in, drive through the slalom course and return, and then buckle in the next student. Time is stopped once all students have completed the course.

HIKE CAMELBACK MOUNTAIN

Friday, November 8th

6:45 AM

Located just 20 minutes from downtown Phoenix, Camelback Mountain is one of Phoenix's best hikes and most popular attractions for thousands of visiting hikers each year. Two difficult trails ascend 1,420 feet to a summit resembling the hump of a camel's back, affording 360-degree views of the surrounding city. Part of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, Camelback gets its name from its two rock formations that resemble the head and back of a kneeling camel.

Echo Canyon Trail

Distance: 2.5 miles out-and-back

Time: 2-3 hours roundtrip (there will be an option to turn around at the lookout point halfway up the trail).

Trailhead: There will be a shuttle to take you to the trailhead at 4925 E McDonald Dr, Phoenix, and return to the hotel. This trailhead has restrooms, benches and water.

What to expect: This steep and rocky ascent requires assistance of handrails and climbing to reach the top, but the 360-degree views from the summit are worth it.
